Installing a YZ450 Cam in a WR450

3 posts in this topic

Simple question for those of you who have done this. Is the YZ cam installed at the same timing mark as the WR cam? Or is it also advanced 1, like when you change a WR426 to YZ timing? I searched around the site but couldn't find a WR450 to YZ450 answer. Thanks in advance. Damon

Put the cam in according to the mark on the cam. The YZ cam mark is in a different position relative to the mark on the WR cam.

I did mine that way it was like day and night, (once I got my pipe opened up a bit). :)

Ya what he said. look at the marks and they are one tooth off from each other. You will like the difference if you want more power take the battery off and pull the airbox lid.
