Kickstart mechanicsm through crankcase

1 post in this topic

Hi,

After my last practice session today, noticed oil all over the back end. At first I thought the shock had blown but felt OK, and could not see a source of the oil.

Turns out there is a hole about 3mm by 8mm in the right side crankcase, directly above the kickstart shaft. There is some metal showing in the hole, but can't make out what it is on the microfiche until I take it apart. I'm guessing though it will be a case of a new part or two and some tig welding.

Anyone else had these issues?

Bikes an 09 YZ450 by the way.
