03 yz450 cam timing with aftermarket stator cover.

So, I tore down my engine to install a 5 speed from a WR and forgot to mark the cam timing marks in refrence to the crank location.

I do not have the stock stator cover with the timing marks for the flywheel. how do i go about installing the cams on the bike without using the original timing marks?

Find TDC by probing for the piston crown through the spark plug hole.

You can actually feel TDC as you rotate the crank past it.

Thanks grey, I did that this morning and kicked it for a half hour, its still not catching and sometimes ill get a bit of fire out of the exhaust, but never feels like its catching. Ill take a picture later today to see if its correct.
