Tires for the Woods

Mostly rocky and dry dirt. Last time I went it was muddy thou. My buddy runs the m404 & 403 combo which are the tires I was leaning toward but he runs like 3lbs in the rear since he has an 18 on the back. So I thought I'd try some other stuff jus to see but all the others I look at are 110/90. Dunno if I'd be able to tell the difference between a 120/80 & a 110/90 or not to be honest.

Perilli Mx ms rear tire with the scorpion XC front

I just tried out some Pirelli's...MXMS on the front and an MT-16 on the back.

Love the MXMS up front traction-wise, too soon to tell how it will hold up.

The MT-16 on the back is so far pretty impressive. I have an 18" rear wheel and the 110 size has a pretty big sidewall so I can get away with lower pressures. Too soon to tell how it hold yet though also.

Update on these tires; rode hard for an hour and half on semi-hardpack/rocky highspeed terrain. It absolutely destroyed the MXMS front tire. There are only five side knobs on one side of the tire that are still intact...the rest are either completely missing (most) or are torn most of the way through. I know this tire was designed for mid-soft terrain but this is ridiculous. I only had about six hours on this tire before today's ride and the tire was in perfect condition.

The MT-16 rear held up fine and the traction was good.

i like the mt 16 tires, if you order the mt16 front make sure you order the bigger one...the 100 seems narrow, its holding up well to the rocky stuff here but i know if i hit a hard edge i will bent the rim...

Sorry to hear that but thanks for the feedback, I know what tire not to get as I ride a alot of hardpack and rocky terrain. I guess I'll stick with M12 front.
