Clutch adjustment

2 posts in this topic

Hi I have just bought a 2004 WR450 and I'm working through a few settings which I hope you guys might be able to help with.

The clutch leaver has no free play in it but still need to be pulled all the way in to release the drive it's not bad but I'm a bit worried about running with out free play. Can any one tell me how much free play you need ?

Thanks for any help with this one .

Jono

1/8 to 1/4". If it's disengaging too close to the bar it's probably time for new plates as there is no real external adjustment. Your clutch basket may be grooved as well, I hate to say. Only way to know either is to pull the cover and look.
