WR400 Value?

8 posts in this topic

I have a like new ridden very little WR400 that is dual sport, plated in CA. My question is what is a fair price? I'm thinking about selling it.

RedsWR, a 400 will be 98 or 99. No difference between them from what I have seen.

A truely "like new" CA plated 400 should be in the $1600-$2200 range depending on the buyer. No plate you'd be closer to $1400-$1700 I'd say from prices I've seen.

The 400 and 426's aren't all that highly demanded simply because of the lack of an electric leg. Not too many people want to kick a bike everytime they need to start is if they don't have to.

This time of year is a good time to sell so I'd start in the $2k area but expect to take around $1800. Been hearing CA is pulling plates when people transfer them to new owners. Not sure if that's true, but that was what I read a while ago so the plate may not be a huge selling point.

I haven't heard of DMV pulling a plate in years, I had no trouble transferring my plated WR426 when I purchased it.

I would figure an additional 400 to 500 on fair market value for a plated WR400. I recently saw one for sale for 1,200 or so. I would try 2K and work down from there.

My plated WR400 this winter was $1300, but needed work and hadn't received an offroad treatment.

Depending on what you've got, $2500 or so. (Given the market in Kommiefornia)
