engine oil?????

4 posts in this topic

Yamalube has their special blend of oil, which they call non friction modified. I am wondering if it is really necesary to run this oil or if any regular motor oil will do. I run it now and the guys at the dealership say its different, but of course they want you to buy it. If it is different, is there a different brand of non friction modified oil that is good enough? Whats the difference between regular oil and non fricion oil any way?

dirtdad,

Thanks for the link. I have always used Castrol GTX in my cars, trucks and bikes. But lately there has been quite a bit of discussion on friction modifiers and their affects on wet clutches.

I'm glad my 10/40 and 20/50 GTX, made the grade. However, I will be switching all my vehicles to the Quaker State HD, 4x4, 10/40. Nothing is to good for my babies.

Hey Guys!

Oh! Oilz well dat endz well...Ahh guh guh guh! :)

Oops, sorry, forgot the spinach.

Anyway,

Ever since I started using Mobil 1 in my vehicles I've been happy. They like synthetic better than the "dino" stuff.

So, with that article, I don't see any problem with running Mobil 1 15W50. New Clutch, new oil. Sounds good, no? :D
