2006 450 CDI issues??

So i was riding at the track the other night, and my bike just bogged out and shut shut off... I checked the plug and it looks fine and someone said that it may be the cdi/ coil... is this a common issue?? how can i check to see if this is the issue or is there something else i should be looking for?? thanks for any help guys!!

There are three main components in the ignition system: the stator assembly, the CDI, and the coil. Start by checking for spark. If none, then inspect the wiring (actually disconnect and reconnect the connectors), then test the stator and coil as shown in the manual:
