Front axle

Front axle does not go back in tried grease and a little sanding off but still gets stuck should i sand off more metal off the axle or is it a bad idea:bonk:

If it came out, then it has to go back in. It's not lined up properly....+1 on DO NOT SAND....:excuseme:

Sounds like there's dirt inside the internal spacer inside the hub... You can use a nylon brush from a gun cleaning kit for a shotgun. Use some diesel or something to wash and scrub it out good.

Check the bolt as well, roll it on the ground and see if it's warped, if it is, replace it.

With the wheel out, try to determine what exactly it won't go past:

  • Will it slip through the wheel bearings without the forks in the picture?
  • Will it slide into each side of the fork? (and are your pinch bolts loose?)

I have seen a burr develop at the receiving end of either fork lug that would block the axle out. In that case, remove the burr with a file.

it cant get in the rught side where the axle is fat pinch bolts are out maybe a local mechanic can do it i have seen him do hardwork:thumbsup:
