08 handlebar size vs. tall man woods bars

4 posts in this topic

I was looking for taller & farther forward handlebars for

my new '08 WR450F for dual sport/woods riding. I am 6' 4" tall. Hope these findings help others:

The stock Pro taper 5XC-LO, 1 1/8" bars are: 31.50" wide X 3.31" high X 2.05" sweep (or pull back) (800mm X 85mm X 52mm), according to search results. Stock bars are YZ high bend.

I just bought (not installed yet) RC mini Renthal fatbars #671-01-BK(black) which are: 29.13" (mine measure 29.68") X 4.64" X 1.65". (740mm X 118mm X 42mm).

So for $70.00 you can gain a 1.33" taller, .40" farther forward bar, that is 1.82" narrower (according to my measurements) for tall woods riders without perhaps having to buy riser blocks for them or saw them down.

That said, there are 1.2" fatbar riser blocks for $20 you can add to the RC minis that will make your handlebar position 2.53" taller than stock- nice for stand up riding for tall people.

Ok Im finally going to buy some new bars and I was wondering if you run bark busters? If so do the narrower bars still accommodate the bark busters?

I'm considering the 2" Rox Riser for my 2009 WR450F, stock bars. Think the stock cables will work? I'm 6'5", so I really need to raise the handlebars somehow.
