XR400 original rear tire, what were they?

Does anyone know what the stock tires were? I might be in the market for another one if the right one comes along. My 99 came with Dunlop K695's, but I've looked at two that supposedly had the original tires and it was a

D752 rear, 98 and 01. Oem parts lists a K695. Were there two different rears issued?

my 03 had the k695 on it.

The original tyres in the uk were IRC dont know if they were fitted to all xrs or just the uk ones

K695 on my '03 too.

When i got my 2001 xr400 it had the original tires: a K695 on the back and a k490 front. I actually really like the front tire. It was more of a traditional knobby. Got another on that was on the cr250 front end i got and i used it for another two years more.

K695 on my 2000 as well. Just put new MX51s front and rear on cause I could not find any k695s or I would have bought them instead. I like the larger knobs on the K695s personally.

Yeah, thats why I wanted to make sure, before I call someone out on it if they are trying to BS me.

Go get a set of Dunlop MX51's. They are the new model and all the tires in stock should be good and fresh. If your bike still has an original stock tire you are going to think you got a new bike.

not to start a tire debate, but i would look into motoz tires. They are cheaper (about 65 bucks shipped) but very good tires. I have had one on the rear for about 600 miles and it is about half worn right now. I can see myself getting about another 200-300 miles of gravel roads out of it. I have the tracula which is discontinued but all of there tires except for one version is designed for off-road riding and racing and not motocross. It has the best sidewall of any tire i have used and combine that with an awesome rim guard it really protects well. I have been mobbing this gravel/rock logging roads all summer (majority of my mileage) and i have not gotten one wheel ding or pinch flat with these tires. I ran about 6 psi all the time for the first 200-300 miles (break in) and then ran about 8-9 psi on the logging roads (averaging 35-45 mph with frequent runs to top speed) and about 6 psi in tight single track.

I got mine through a guy in Washington named Kelly. awesome guy great rider. Give him a call and he will set you up with the right tire for you riding conditions.
