A clutch is supposed to disengage (release, "let go") when you pull the lever in, and engage (hold, drive) when you let it out, so it's hard to follow your complaint, exactly.

The only thing that can be adjusted with the cable is the lever free travel, which should be about 3mm, or roughly the thickness of a nickel. If this is correct, there's a problem with the clutch itself if it won't release properly. If you can't get it adjusted, look for a mid-cable adjuster about 3 inches down from the lever under a rubber sleeve.

Sorry it is hard to follow. It has got me confused two. Both of them worked perfect before i changed levers. I only unscrewed the levers and took off the cable and put a new one on. It makes no sense to me why it doesnt work on either of my bikes.
