What's your favorite tire?

756's front and rear, Yamaha's eat any tire quick. If you want good tire wear buy a different brand of bike :)

I just looked up the Maxxis IT's at Rocky Mountain. How do the fronts hook up? The price is pretty attractive.

ED78 :) 120-100-18 i dont have a favorite front tire yet. kevin :D

Wow! Thanks to all who replied. It looks like I might try the s 12 after all. But I am still woried that this will be my experience:

A dozen 50-80 mile rides...? Wow, I am lucky to get four 50-60 mile rides out of an S12 before it chunks to bits under the torque of the WR450...

What the hell. It's only 60 bucks. Then I'll give the maxis it a try and see how that works.

It looks like the m 12 is it for the front so far. :)

:D

Dan, I do not think that CISCO believes ya about the 900 miler that we did last weekend. I wonder what he would say about you racing 540 miles in one day (next Week).

Yes, the Maxxis IT wore the best of the 16 rear tires on the ride. My 739AT did great but not like the Maxxis.

Up in the woods of the Northeast I have found that the Pirelli MT16 front and MT18 rear is the best all around woods tire combo. It is tough to beat and wears like concrete. I guess every region is different.

Just raced a 500 miles desert rally through rocks and sand and the dunlops 707 worked great, I'm still using them in my weekly rides. Mostly rocks and mud at this time of the year down here.

Chris,

Did you not see what tires I'm running? I have the s-12 front and the M-12 rear. Remember?

:)

has any one tried the 739 A/T it is supposed to be made out of gnarly long lasting material?? but for me it looks like the m12 rear and probably m12 front also... all im lookin for is a long lasting tread

900 miles in one weekend? Cumawn!!!

There were 16 of us on the trip for three days of riding. We started in Tonopah NV and rode to: Ely,Elko,Eureka, Belmont and back to Tonopah... Just under 900 miles, we do these rides all the time, oh and we stay at casinos where we gamble and have a couple of beers..... Not too shabby!!

Did you say muffler bearings? I know that DRZ's have them, but Yamaha decided against them as they're too heavy. :)

LOL!! :D

Right on Dan! Your an animal on two wheels!!! :D

Cisco, we would love to have you on one of our rides sometime.. I think you'de have a great time...

:), Dan

brand new shiny m12 on back, gotta go tear into something...

This tire looks like it will launch 2lb rocks into orbit! Will let you know how I like it tonight.

M12 Rear is hooked up big time. Trail riding, dry conditions, hardpack, some big piles of loose rock, roots, it had lots of grip. Almost launched myself more than once! Can't wait till the wife's not looking so I can go get a front, will get the s12 or the m12, haven't decided which. :)

Have had similar experience with S12, they are great in the mud and sand but lousy in hard terrain. I put about 900 miles on my S12's this winter and the rear tire is about gone. I actually switched back to the stock Dunlop 739's when things dried up, and the actually work real well in the terrain they are made for ie hard pack, or hard terrain.

anybody try a dunlop 773 on their bike?

Im game let me know where and when! Remember Im a gimp! Im fast for the first 100 miles. Thenim pretty quick for 100 more. Then I just try to hang on after that. My elbow has a mileage limit. :D

S-12 for the front and nothing but a C-755 Chicken Skin on the back. 42 bucks in the door for a tire that lasts as long as a big-bucker any time. :)

I have tried a few differant tires, I have settled with the Dunlop 756 front and Rear

Just put a M12 on the rear with the 756 front. Let you know how it works this weekend :) The WR ate the 756 after I re-jetted :D
