I have a wr 426 and have a 450 cylinder lying around and would like to know if the 450 cylinder bolts straight on or if anyone has a 426 cylinder for swap. cheers in advance

No...it's not a straight bolt on. I have not seen anyone do this, but I have read here on TT that it can be done, but takes a crank, piston, and head as well as the cylinder (kinda like using 426 stuff on a 400)

With all that you need to do it you may as well get an entire 450 engine.

Or just swap the 450 cylinder for a 426 cylinder which is what i have done. reason i added this thread is because if you read the top its says exacly that. i have 2 wr426's now but my second one has issues and the engine is mashed so luckely i have plent of spares including a 426 cylinder now :)

So you swapped the 450 cylinder and piston onto a 426 bottom end with a 426 head? and it worked?
