fitting headlight to 09 yzf450

has anyone fitted or know how i can fit a headlight and tail light to my 09 yzf450 for night rides

hate to sound like a d!ck but have you searched? i just did a quick one and turned up a bunch of reading.

Baja Designs has a 7" HID kit that runs off batteries. We run this light (wired) on our CRF450X race bike and it is awsome. The only down side is you are a going to have to fork out a little less than 1K for the kit. But on an up side, you don't have to split the case or rewind your stator. And you can run it on any bike. I believe it comes with two batteries that last 3 hours each.

unscrew the fuel cap and pour a wr 450 in?

I would suggest taking a look at some of the mountain bike lights out there. Some of them (usually the more expensive ones) are very bright. Lots of bicyclists around here use these at night - amazingly bright for its size - http://www.amazon.com/NiteRider-MiNewt-Mini-USB-Headlight-Battery/dp/B002I4KV1Y/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1278468379&sr=8-11

For a tail light, check out the Planet Bike Superflash http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Bike-3034-1-Blinky-Superflash/dp/B0015R40JE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1278468147&sr=8-1 I use one on my road bike in flash mode (it can also go steady) and it is very visible at a distance, much brighter than your normal LED bike flashers.

I run an 8" HID with two batteries mounted to the underside of my seat which will get me about four hours.
