rev limiter?

Does having the grey wire still in-place on a 03 wr450 act as a rev limiter? have not clipped it yet. playing with jetting, the previous owner put on a GTYR pipe and muffler and did not rejet. develops a sputter at the same spot no matter what gear or engine load.

No, the grey wire only toggles the CDI between engine maps.

Probably bad jetting. Did the PO do the throttle stop?

they gray wire is not a throttle stop... the throttle stop is, the gray wire is a different ingnition map setting

you definately need to rejet
