Installing engine into frame (2004 WR450)

4 posts in this topic

Finally getting the boxes of parts that I purchased looking like an bike.

The engine is almost complete now, and I was wondering if it is any easier to install the engine back into the frame without having the cylinder head installed, or doesn't it matter?

i have done it both ways and i found it easer with the motor in the frame.not so much putting the motor in the frame but putting the cylinder and head on the motor

Doesn't really matter.

I've pulled my engine out with out the head, but it all went back in together.

Engine way easier to work on out of the bike!

Thanks for the replies - The barrel is already on, so if it doesn't make much difference then I'll put the head on now and fit it into the bike as a complete unit.
