2007 YZ450F race sag

4 posts in this topic

I have a 2007 YZ450F and just had my suspension rebuit. Checked my race sag and it is 96mm. Is this good or should I change it? I ride MX only. Can you change the sag without taking the sub frame off?

That's what I would run unless the front end dives like crazy entering a corner. That and run the fork up in the clamp about 5-7mm.

The sag can be set by reaching in from the right side with a piece of aluminum bar stock to break the lock ring loose, then rotating the spring by hand, grabbing it on the bottom end. then you can lock the ring back down again.

Or, there's this nifty gizmo:

The shop that rebuilt your suspension should have given you a sag recomendation spec (unless by "rebuilt" you mean a simple fluid and seal change at your local Yammi dealer). FC that did my suspension recommends 104 mm on my peticular setup.
