yz450 spark arrestor removal

Im riding tracks now and do not need the spark arrestor that was installed on my 09 450 , so can it be removed without major work or will they have to completely replace the pipe or ????

Unscrew the 3 bolts on the endcap and remove the spark arrestor, that easy.

The only thing that removing the screen will do for you is avoid the possibility of fiberglass piling up on the inside of the screen if the muffler starts to blow packing. The screen itself has no perceptible effect on performance.

Leaving the screen in will also cut down on noise a little too, if you're at all interested in that.
