How compatible is my yz400f to a yz426 or 450

I need a new piston and cylinder and i was wondering if a 1998 yz426f and a 1998 yz450 will work on my 1998 yz400f. If you could give me yous advice that would be great, thank you......

Yamaha made the YZ400f from 98-99, the YZ426f from 2000-2002 and the YZ450 from 03 to current.

If you rebuild your YZ400 crank using a 426 rod, you can then use a 426 piston and cylinder. No 450 top end parts will fit on either a 400 or 426.

Would it be as reliable using the rod and cylinder.... can you use the cams out of the 400 in the 426 head?
