Need help lowering my 98 WR400F

This comment applies to my 426, but may work for you. If you don't need maximum suspension, then raise the rear shock adjusting nut to to preload when on the bench. This will take the seat down over 2 inches. The race sag will be wrong, but probably no problem for recreational trail riding. Don't do this for track use, however.
