Anyone think we should have a 426 (or 450) only Forum? *DELETED*

23 posts in this topic

Why would you want to do that?

Theres no reason we shouldnt share 1 forum. Theres not a ton of difference in the 400/426/450 other than displacment.

I think us "old timer" 400 riders could benefit from the knowledge we share together.

Start splitting up all the bikes into different forums and then you just have people double and triple posting the same topics in every forum.

I dont think that we should split the forum up, but it is sometimes difficult to know what bike a person is talking about in there response to a question ( example is in mods done to bikes, not all are applicable to all bikes and some people dont list there bike in thier signature).

I don't think they should be separated but I do wonder if this same question was asked when the 426 was first released.

The question was asked on this forum when the 450 was a twinkle in Yamaha 's eye and the overwhelming response was to let the big bores stick together.

I have about 600 miles on my 99 WR400, and I've never had a woodruff key failure. I know a guy who just bought a 450, had 1.4 miles on it when the key failed. How superior is that? :D[

Im not gonna get in a 450 vs 400 battle here because we are all one brotherhhod here.

Im sure Machester was surly joking about the 450 being superior to the 400 but if not I have to say I rode a 450 and I cant tell it rides (power wise or handling) one bit different than my 400.

I have ridden a WR450 and a YZ450 and its almost amazing how restrictive the WR was in comparision to the YZ. I hope I dont offend anyone by saying that, but Yamaha has had 4 years to improve the WR line since my bike and I dont see any improvements other than the electric start.

Just my insignifigant opinion... :)

Case in point...

(someone buys a new 450 down the road.... just got off a 426)

"I remember a post about (whatever) a few months ago about this problem I am having with my (new) 450."

Your mind is a sponge... keep 'em as one forum.

Ok..Ok..before everyone gets their panties in a bunch..I was only joking about the 450 being superior..hence the lmao after that statement. In my humble opinion, their is alot I like about the 426 that I don't like about the 450..soooo on that note...As long is it's blue..it will be in my garage...Have a safe weekend my brothers in blue!

Boys, :D

Be nice to each other. :)

We never know when we'll need help during a ride. And we surely don't want anybody to leave us in trouble because of the type of bike we ride. :D

We have to look out for each other, remember that. :D
