What size tube do I need for a 3.00-21 tire?

Does anyone know what size tube I need for a 3.00-21 front tire? I have spent over an hour looking and I can for the life of me figure it out. Also I read the heavy duty tubes are for off road applications only. It will be going on a DRZ400s that stays mainly on the street and I just want it to be a safe as possible. Is a heavy duty tube a good or a bad idea? My old tube is probably fine but I dont want to take any chances losing the front tire at high speed so I think I will just break down and get a new tube as well.

Thanks, Jon

Whatever the standard 21" tube is out there. 100/90 or whatever. All the tire sites have conversion charts.

21-CH is the part # for a michelin heavy duty tube 3.00-21

or ask for a tube to suit 3.00-21 tire

You want to look for one of the following

Metric

80/100-21

Imperial Measurements

3.00-21

Oh Ok, all I seen before was metric tubes and thats what was confusing me. Thanks just ordered the tube and tire

Doesn't make a hill of beans difference either way.

No problem :ride:

To bring this back, I was wondering; Is that 80/100 measurement applicable to the actual tire itself?

I'm asking because I am browsing tires and my fronts call for a 3.00-21 but then there are other tire option such 90/90-21 or 120/70-21 which i was wondering if could work. The rim itself is a 1.60-21 with the 3.00-21 tire on it.

Thanks :ride:

I can't seem to find crossreference lists of this, if anyone could help that'd be much appreciated :ride:

Here is how the tire sizes work.

80/100-21 means that the tire is 80mm wide and the sidewall is 100% of the width so it is also 80mm

90/90-21 would be a 90mm wide tire with a 81mm sidewall

120/70-21 would be a 120mm wide tire with a 84mm sidewall

Also...

3.00-21 directly converted would be 76/100-21 but that is not a real size. It would be a 80/100-21
