2006 yz450f reliability?

i am thinking of trading my 2008 crf250x for a 2006 yz450f. is the 450f reliable? Is there anything in particular i should know about this bike?

Spectacularly.

If you're not familiar with dry sump lube systems, read through Common Threads regarding dry sump systems in general, and the oil change procedure.

Also be aware that the engine oil lubes the trans. That means you can't use an oil labeled JASO MB, and you shouldn't use one labeled API EC-II. JASO MA/MA2 is a good thing to look for, but not strictly necessary. Unless it's an oil made specifically for the purpose, AND you know it will hold up in the trans, change it frequently.

Otherwise, there are relatively few recurrent issues with the bike in general.
