Clutch replacement

2 posts in this topic

Hi, I have an 03 wr 450. I'm going to replace the clutch and was wanting some advice. I'm looking for a good long lasting clutch. Is Kevlar or carbon fiber a good choice. Are they geared more for racing? I pretty much trail ride and hill climb. Are clutches labled heavy duty any better than OEM? Any input would be great.

Thanks

Are you looking to replace just plates and springs, or baskets as well?

If it's just plates and springs, OEM are as good and long lasting as anything, probably better.

But if you're replacing clutch baskets you want to go aftermarket, Hinson, Wiseco , etc. But they are a fair bit pricier.
