Aftermarket for 2010 YZ 450 (tanks, skid plates)?

Recommended Posts

Works Connection has radiator guards and skid plates available.

Waiting for twinn air for filters to come out with something. It sure will be

interesting to see what IMS does for a bigger tank..

Twin air all ready has a air filter for it.

Somewhere in past posts there is a pic of stewarts air box being modified . It also shows what appears to be a raised air filter, not a flat one. I assume its for more surface area. Anyone have any info on what kind of filter that may be? Sorry I can't seem to find the post...

I ordered skid plate and radiator braces from Works Connection last week... They called me yesterday and said that the will ship on the 24th... They are still finishing up design and fabrication... I will post pics as soon as I receive them!

was the radiator protection you ordered the braces or the cage?

I seen a rocky mountain atv they had the cage and on the works connection site they had the brace's. I dont know which one would be better but looks like the brace's would be easier to put on.

Applied Has Factory Clamps sets for the new 2010 YZ450F in the stock 22mm offset.

They also tested different offsets with Doug Dubach and now offer 20mm Factory Sets. Doug used the 20mm clamps when he won the 30+ & 40+ Pro at the World Vet Championships at Glen Helen.

Both clamp sets are 1/2 lb lighter than stock!

I was talking about an aftermarket tank. . .did you read the whole post or are you just typing stuff for the fun of it?

There have been so many people saying one of the shortcomings of the bike is the placement of the fuel tank, and how it won't be any good for off-road. I thought thats what you were saying. Now I see you were talking about an aftermarket tank.

It may need to be a tank that incorporates the radiator shroud/air duct into the fuel carrying body of the tank.
All that technology and mass centralization seems like a wast with a tank design like that.

These bikes are designed for MX first. Other applications may need to sacrifice some of the design features to work (i.e. desert racing).

I would think FMX guys would like a bike with a very small gas tank..I can here them saying "why do we need a tank that holds 1.9 gallons?"
