2001 YZ426F Exhaust

12 posts in this topic

I second this question. I would like to hear a lot more about options for exhaust for the 426. I also was told a 06 450 system would work on a 426. Is this true? Thanks in advance

I don't really know about options, but I have a used White Brothers E-Series setup if you are interested. I had it listed in classifieds, but not sure it is still in there. Let me know if eithier of you is interested. I have $40 in it, I'd like to get my money back and you pay shipping. Thanks,

Josh

I second the Dr. D. I bought my 01 from my buddy with a Yosh pipe on it, but the side blew out! I didn't have any complaints, but I decided to try the Dr. D and I notice gains all over! :moon:

When I had my 426 it had a Thunder Alley exhaust , but I don't think they are being made anymore. It was a reverse megaphone design, and really made for a nice broad spread of power and sounded great. My 450 is sporting a Dr. D and I'm really happy with it as well. You might still be able to find the Thunder Alley pipes around, but it was a small company and I'm not sure how many of them are still out there.

I wish that you had put in a little more information about what you want in the pipe. Power? Quite? FS legal etc...

I have a White Bros pro slip on. It's very good, has a spark arr arrester insert nut is a little barky. I have a good buddy with a YZ400 who went with an FMF Q to get quiet. The header pipe he went with was the powerbomb. I'd say that it can make a big difference (header) depending on the pipe you choose. Now is a really good time to look at FMF since they have that 20% off deal going. If you can still find the White bros. aluminum pro you can get a heck of a deal, since they sold to Vance and Hines. anyway, good luck.

I rode a '98 YZ400F and a 2000 YZ426 for a combined total of about nine years, both with stock exhaust , and I never wanted for more power. Save your money for gas, oil, tires, ice, beer and nachos.:moon:

I put a Thunder Alley on my Xr 400 and was very impressed. They are located in Hanford,Ca. You can find his info on myspace ,at least thats how I found him last time. The whole system (header, mid pipe, can, spark arrestor, and quiet insert) all for 350 bucks! "INSTALLED"
