recluse for yz450f 2009 and 2010?

Does anyone know if a recluse from a 09 will fit the new 2010?

I have a feeling that it may. I don't know for certain because I don't yet have access to the parts fiche, but the transmission ratios are identical, and the clutch specs in the manual are the same.

I was thinking of getting a recluse clutch for the 2010 instead of a pipe. i believe it would be more benificel than a pipe.

I think for most amateur riders it would help them a ton. I shaved consistently about 4 seconds a lap at the sand track that i regularly ride at. I would not own a bike without it now. I think a lot of the time we abuse the 450s and just run it in third gear cause we are lazy, now i regularly tap between 2nd and 4th where i used to run the whole track in 3rd. It works well for me.

Why would an auto clutch encourage you to shift more, rather than less?

Clutch is different between 09 and 2010 YZ450

It does for me because i can just bump gears whenever, as opposed to using the clutch and shifting. So its faster and takes less effort.

No different than shifting without the clutch with a standard manual setup.

I talked to the Rekluse guys when I was racing the World Vet at Glen Helen. The guy I talked to was the owner and is the person who invented the Rekluse clutch. He told me that my Core EXP clutch that I have in my 09 would work in the new 2010 as well.

Interesting - I called them today. Said '10 was new - would have z-start pro ready in a week or so but core exp would not be until Jan.

Also, exp online has different part #. 05-09 is the same but changed for 2010. If what you say above is true then the Pro in my '08 should also work in a 2010.

The last time I spoke to them they said the 09 would fit the 2010. They are in the process of making new spacer gaskets for the clutch cover, thats all you'll need.... I'll call tomorrow... can't ride without my pro!

The change for the 2010 is a deeper cover included in the kit to clear the clutch hub. so the 09 clutch should run in the 10, just need to space the cover until the cover is available.

Rode my 2010 with the Rekluse Z pro last weekend and it worked perfectly. Rekluse recommended the med / hard setting to help off set the initial hit of the EFI and I have to say that this was a perfect setting for the conditions. We rode down in Texas and the tracks were a sandy clay mix. Fairly loamy but not heavy dirt. The bike had just sick traction off the corners and really let you grab a handful of throttle without excessive wheel spin. However, fan the clutch above 4000 rpm in the corners and it will try to tug your arms out of your sockets. I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Didn't do any starts, but I can tell you that I'm confident it is going to work well.

I wouldnt recommend that anyone else buy one of these units for your 2010... :ride:

Just installed the Rekluse core exp into my 2010.

Super easy to install and set up.

Ride report soon...:ride:

Sounds good 597, Mine left Suttos yesterday and I am keen to see how it goes. I am done stalling in those corners.
