06 clutch lever shocking me

I know this may have been discussed before but I cant find it. My 06 yz450 seems to be shocking my fingers when I ride with them resting on clutch lever. Any info will be appreciated.

Thank You

David Russell

It's most likely to be a defective kill button. This happened to my '06 once, but it cleared up on it's own after a few minutes and hasn't happened since.

a short in the killswitch...shocking ain't it?

Thanks I will try that ASAP

Lol...I had that problem occur during a hare scramble on my '06. It was quite an experience!

Distracting as hell, isn't it? :banghead:

could b plug cap not on the spark plug all the way

I raced a very windy, dusty hare scramble and the dust moving across my levers built up a static charge but only during the high speed sections. I would reach for my brake at the end of a straight and get a shock.

Thanks for the input I ordered a new kill switch today.

Replaced kill switch and checked spark plug boot. Still getting shocked is there a ground on the frame that I can check or something else?

did you replace the wire as well as the button

Ya I replaced the whole thing with a Moose kill switch
