Has anybody used 2 master links?

I was running 15/47 gearing for a dual sport ride and installed a new chain at the same time.When I went back to a 14/52 for woods riding, the chain was too short so I added another link along with a second master link.

Can anyone think of any adverse effects of using 2 master links?

there's no adverse effect, just the fact that you now have 2

"weakest links". you'll likely have no problems

Using 2 master links is a common practice for dirt track racers because of the gearing variations used. No worries.

I would use 2 master links on GEO199's bike but not on my own.

Ive done it befoe too, just be sure to carry at least two master links with you on the trail ?
