Headpipe Leaks

2 posts in this topic

I have a 426 with White Bros highboy headpipe, S bend pipe and E series silencer. When changing from stock i roached the gasket from headpipe to S pipe. Called White Bros they said to use high temp silicon to seal it. Everything tried so far burns or blows out. Any suggestions on silicon or remedy?

Permatex Ultra Copper Silicon. It has the highest temp rating of all commercially available silicons. If that don't do it, I am afraid you are going to have to replace the insert. I understand it is a pricey item. Maybe you have to be a little more persistant with those malaise people over at WB.
