Blaster wont rev

Yamaha

Just helped a friend rebuild his 04 blaster top end. Now that he has it back together it will idle fine but will not rev up with out falling on its face. We cleaned the carb and even tried a carb off a known good running blaster. I think that the cdi box is not letting the quad rev up, We have tried running it with the TORS system and without. I am more of a honda guy so I am not familiar with a lot of the tricks or problems with this quad.

Been looking around on the web and saw that there is a small switch on the parking brake that might cause this problem?

Is it safe to assume that it ran fine before you did the top end? If so, look for an air leak, maybe at the base gasket.

...usually when it doesn't rev up it is the parking brake switch, so check that one!!

The parking brake switch was the problem. it is now removed and the thing runs great!
