05 Yz 450 starting difficulties

my buddy bought the bike a few weeks ago and we have ben riding it, whenever it is warm it is harder to start. we put i t in neutral everytime and it still is giving him problems. is there a technique to starting them? or is somthing else wrong.

thanks

One of the most important things is having the idle mixture set up correctly. Be sure of that first.

The typical YZ450 is very easy to flood slightly when hot. The hot start lever, above the clutch is there to lean the mixture out slightly during hot starts. Pull and hold it while you kick, and that may help. It may also help to open the throttle very slightly and holding it steady at that point while kicking, but avoid opening the throttle too far, and especially avoid the common two-stroke habit of twisting the throttle as you kick.
