It's Here...the 2010 YZ450F

Once again, don't stress on the weight. I own an 09 kx450 and the thing turns in quicker and can be snapped around in a corner just as fast or quicker than anything I've ridden in recent years, yet people somehow say the kxf is the heavy one, well those number are deceiving. And I'm sure yamaha didn't go through all this effort just to produce a pig! BTW did the person that released those pics from yamaha so early manage to keep their job? Now we know their source was spot on.

ps. HID lights need battery to light up. No alternator can alone provide enough current.

Off topic, slightly, but not true. Any number of bikes have a big enough alternator output to ignite an HID. But what's important is that it produces enough at idle to keep the light running, or it will need to be re-ignited all over again. To that end, a battery is a wise idea.

Where are the WR's? I hope they are all new for 2010 too and are similar to the YZ450F. More waiting...

I am impressed with the bike. I love how in recent years manufacturers have taken the dive into science to improve their bikes (most notably Honda in 09 and then Yamaha for 10) I think this technology is really neat and will make good bikes.

I am a mechanical engineering student, so I can appreciate the design of this machine no matter how well it performs against the competition.

I see the vent tube is still routed the same, you think with airbox being up front it would been easy for them to route it there instead. love the bike though cant wait to get one

Well...I hate to say I told......no I don't!

Not in the market for a new MX bike just yet (the 08 is holding up nicely). I am going to be purchasing a new WR in the next month or so.

Can't wait for somone to run out and purchase this thing and write a review!!

John

Let's just Pray it's better than the YZ-400F.....Uggghhh

Aren't the WR's always a year later?

Green Sticker in Cali or Red?

YZ is red. WR is green.

Green Sticker in Cali or Red?

I hope that design doesn't make it too light on the front end (weight bias). It looks like good bike to "poppa wheelie" on.

Only guessing here .. but I doubt that it will green sticker, since that is not a requirement for motocross bikes. But hopefully, Yamaha has realized that most motocross bikes are used for trailriding/playriding (or at least partly) and surprise everyone with a green sticker moto bike. I won't hold my breath, though.

So when should these things start hitting the dealer floors? I mean if they aren't sold before they get there...

The new YZ450 looks killer...

Thats sick!!! I will admit that I hated the 2010 YZ250F when it was released, and I still do... but theres something different about the 450(appearence wise) that is way better looking than the 250F. I hope the blue US versions come with black rims, because my dads in the market for a new bike. lol

They are $9,000 and I heard late November or early December for delivery. Dealers will only get 11 units for the year so deposits early will ensure you can get one.

Gotta say at first blush it looks quite impressive. Once again Yamaha breaks the mold. Hopefully all this inovation translates to a leap forward in performance. Time will tell I guess.
