Can you get the airfilter wet by washing the bike or is it pretty well protected if you power washed your bike?

Can you get the airfilter wet by washing the bike ...?
Yes..

i havent checked if i got it wet but it seems very well protected aslong as you dont aim for the air scoops.

Thanks I hope one of my friends gets one so I can ride it.

ProjectDIRT, please check your PM.

Here is a video of Tim Potisek, a top Euro beach race specialists, riding the new 2010 last week. Unfortunately Tim passed away yesterday from injuries he sustained practicing MX. Godspeed Brother.

That bike sounds so mean. RIP Tim Potisek.

The new Transworld has a "test" of the new 450. 2 pages and they never really say much abotu it other than the low end is "stronger than any bike I have ever ridden."

Handling, "very well".....and a low CG.

I wonder if the test was written before or after they ride the bike?

TWMX doesn't say anything bad about any of the bikes, too much advertising $. MXA is the only one that will point out flaws with a bike and then they tell you how to fix it.

100% right on that one....in the same issue they love both ktm's and a kxf 250.

I walked away from $8700 already if it makes you feel any better. I would need that extra money for suspension and a pipe so pays to wait a few weeks for reality to set in. Interesting that only one ride report posted thus far. Went thru this last year. Now 09's EFI bikes are going for 5-6K. When dirt bikes cost more than street bikes, you know there's a problem.

I'm batteling witht he price right now. I could be the first in line to get a white one, but the dude isn't coming off the price. With tax it is $8700 out the door. He is offering $200 online voucher that can be redeemed online through Yamaha. Yamaha will send the check directly to me for $200.(NET $8500) Another dealer told me that he would sell me the new bike for $7600. But after tax, freight, setup, and doc fee, he was $9000. Yeah right.:smirk:

Got to see And sit on a 2010 yz450 today at the shop.Got to say the bike has some cool looking stuff bike as a package it is ugly and bulky looking.Would say in a few years we will look at it like we did the 93-95 yz,s when the 96 came out(if you know what i mean) . I sat on it and the only off putting think is the tank feels wide. dont know if it because i thought it would seem narrower or just the look of it when you looked at it?

Does Triangle Cycles have them yet????

After watching the clip of Tim riding the 2010 YZ I noticed that he didn't wear any kind of neck brace. I found a few more clips of him on a Honda but still no neck brace. After a little research I found out that he died from a broken neck.

R.I.P. Tim Potisek

I'm paying $7,700 for mine. If I want to license it in my state, probably won't, I'll get to pay another $550 in taxes.
