05 yz450F Back fire

Okay i have a 05 yz450 as i already stated and it has a full M4 exhaust on it.. Anytime i slow down it back fires alot is this normal? I am new to 4 strokes and just figured i would ask to make sure... I just got this bike a few weeks ago and just want to make sure i am not messing anything up.. Thanks!
