Wheel spacers

4 posts in this topic

2005 Triple clamp with 2006 fork and a 2005 front wheel and a 2008 front wheel.

Question is how much do I need to change the wheel spacers?

I thought since reading "treads" that the 2005 brake side spacer need to be cut 1 mm? is this right? How about the 2008 spacers?

Cut the brake side spacer 1mm and that should do it. Technically you should cut both spacers, but the other side doesn't affect anything like the brake side does. The 05 and 08 wheels are the same and the brake side spacers are the same size. If you go with the 08 spacers you need to use the 08 axle.

Thanks!Thats what i thought but just to be sure do a I cut the 2008 spacer 1mm as well?

Yes, the brake side spacer is the same length for the 05 and 08, the other spacer is only different because the shoulder on the axle is different.
