What year brake rotors will fit '06

I have a set of wheels from a '99 WR400 that I'd like to adapt to my '06 YZ450. It's my understanding that they will fit assuming I use wheel spacers from an '06. The sprocket should not be a problem but I've been told the rotor diameter was different on the '99 vs. the '06. I have a line on a set of rotors from an '03/'04 and am wondering if they are the same size as the '06? By chance does anybody know?

Thanks in advance,

01-up are all the same diameter and mounting pattern. 2000 may also be the same diameter, but I'm not positive.

the front rotors are the same, but the rear changed from a 240mm diameter to a 245mm in the 2002 model year. The '04 rotors will definitely fit.

Ah, you got me, for some reason I was thinking that change was in 01. Either way, 5mm smaller diameter probably wouldn't hurt since about 2mm of rotor hang past the brake pads anyways. However, since you have '04 rotors you don't have to worry.

I had to look it up. Easy to confuse it, really. The '01 was the last of the 240's, so it's a significant year in the discussion.

You are probably right as to it not being a big thing, but it's not ideal for the pad to overhang the rotor, either. The wear lip can sometimes cause a couple of minor but goofy problems with brake behavior.

Thanks for the info. Guys!

It looks as though the p/n#'s are identical front and rear for and '03 vs. '06 so this is good news. We'll see if I can get them for a fair price. I'm putting together a set of 19" dirt track wheels to play on a supermoto track and don't want to spend alot of money.
