You suck. I paid $6900 OTD about a month ago.

Between now and Thursday get the AIS removal kit at least and maybe the JD jetting kit and install that stuff before you even ride it.

Enjoy. I love mine.

you don't pay tax until you register. 07 leftovers are going for 5700.00. There are 2 in Greenfield Ma. Same bike as 09. 09 is better for resale but once you ride this bike you will never sell it.

I'm considering an 09 for 5995, plus TTL; Basically a 6400 dollar deal once I pay taxes ( in my state) and get it registered (for the street).

+1

Much better to get the carb work done while the bike is clean and new. Do a thorough search here for jetting that will work for you and your altitude, etc. Best to do this once and be done with it as no way you will like the way it runs stock.

I got the bike for $6075 bucks.. with tax and title its $6608

I just got to drive 2 hours to pick it up...

anyway.... i am definately going to do the mods....

I was going through all the FAQ's....

It looks like i need the JD Jet Kit, the ZipTy Fuel Screw and the TT AIS removal kit....

The only problem is.. when I click on the TT AIS removal kit.. it gives me an OOPS screen.... is this thing no longer made?

I live in Ohio

I live in OHIO

The highest point in Ohio is Campbell Hill. It's 1,549 feet above sea level.

Lowest Point The lowest point in Ohio is the Ohio River. It lies 455 feet above sea level.

Mean Elevation The Mean Elevation of the state of Ohio is 850 feet above sea level.

Will the JD kit come with instructions for what to install per these elevations?

Also.. is there anything else I am missing?

Pretty sure the JD kit will set you up with the correct specs for your altitude. Be sure to get the YZ throttle stop screw or shorten the stock unit while you have the carb apart. Other than that removing the pea shooter in the muffler, opening up the airbox, and grey wire disconnect I believe are the rest of what you'll need to do. Definitely go through the FAQ stickies at the top of the forum and you'll make sure you have it all covered.

I went through the FAQ but I don't see the list of free mods.

Also how important is doing the AIS removal? TT doesn't make the kits anymore. :-(

I believe you are correct on that. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/349/1222/5389/all/1/6228/0/detail.aspx

There appears to be block off parts in the pic and I believe I have heard in the past that this is the case. Someone here will no doubt chime in about this.

EDIT - -Wow, just noticed the $49 price tag. I wonder why TT got rid of their kit. The GYTR kit includes a throttle stop screw and different needle, but you are going to get better jetting in the JD kit that you are already paying for. There are some other companies out there. Applied Racing comes to mind, I would check what they have.

Only because I'm a cheap bastard and would have no use for the needle and throttle stop screw, I'd probably opt for this and shorten the screw myself. It's easy to shorten and it's up in the FAQ somewhere as to what length to use. This also is a little more "blingy" than the GYTR stuff.

The beast is home!

There is something said about getting a brand new bike not tainted by some strangers testicles.

I did ride it around the yard and up and down the street... throttle stop makes it seem weird.. can't wait for my new screw to get here

ROFL too true. Piece of mind is worth the price of admission if you can afford it.
