Oil Cooler???

my buddy has a 2007 wr450, he has it stret legal, but he were told with riding it on the streets n canyons the oil gets too hot n will fry his engine and tranny. does anybody know if thats true and if he should invest in a oil cooler???

I put over 13k miles on my 06 before I sold it and I never hand an issue...if it was me, I would make sure the bike is geared for the road and change the oil every 300 miles or so....should be fine:thumbsup:

I would suggest not taking any advice from the person that told you that.

The WR is one of the coolest running watercooled 450's on the planet, especially the oil.

Yeah, I wonder how you ill set this up on the older steel frame bikes where the oil is in the frame? Cant you just use an expantion tank?

My bike runs cold on the street (less than 150F as long as I'm moving). Adding an oil cooler would be the last thing I would want to spend my money on.
