Wiseco piston vs CP

Hahaha, no worries...I was typing all that with a smile...

Sometimes my typed words are nothing like the exact same words spoken...

Just throwing my 2cents out there...

I am however very impressed with how these small California companies are able to withstand this economy and pressure from these larger corporations...And trust me, they can't do it without our support, which they know they can only get through having a superior product, and service...

I didn't think you where angry. I hope we all survive this economy.

Here is the info. The bore is 4.0157, piston is 4.0137, clearance .002 The top ring gap (per CP manual) is bore x .005, the second ring is bore x .006

So the ring end gaps should be .020 and .024.

I'm not sure what happened to it?....

Are those the spec's, or the measurements? I assume it had a 3 piece oil ring. Was that assembled right?

The specs are the .020 & .024, the measurements where 0.35 & .045. Yep, the 3 piece oil rings where installed correctly. Its only 2 weeks old and has less than 100 miles on it. What do you think happened?...

No, I meant the bore/piston numbers.

I don't know how but the bottom of the piston ripped off, letting the con. rod slap around in the cylinder eventually getting stuck in the front of the case almost blowing that out. That was a really neat, expensive rebuild.

I'm not sure where the noise about Wiseco materials is coming from. We manufacture (forge, machine, and skirt coat) all our pistons in house in Ohio, and our aluminum comes from about 100 miles down the road. Just wanted to clarify that.

je also makes a good piston i know thats what procircuit uses

The original question was answered. I think we're done here.
