1999 wr400

2 posts in this topic

Just purchased a used wr400. I'm having problems when starting it cold. The choke doesn't seem to work. So I say "what the heck I'll pull the hot start for kicks" ...It start with the hot start pulled. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

sounds like your carb needs a good cleaning, make sure the pilot jet is totally cleaned up, once you get the starting procedure down, unless you left gas in the bowl for over a week it should start on the first kick if everything is set up right on it.
