carb solenoid

could someone please tell me what the solenoid on the bottom of the carb is for am new to the drz 400 and do not know much about them am trying to sort out lots a bits the previous owner mucked obout with

The US DR-Z400SM comes with a 36mm Mikuni BSR36 similar to the UK one, but without the solenoid thingy.

It's the pair valve, helps with emissions and ruins a great bike! All you need to know for removal

Not quite, the pair valve is vacuum operated, but sits in front of the engine, on the left side.

The solenoid valve is a form of engine limiter, but you are right on the link you gave, it deals with removing both systems.

Yep , Neil's right. I'm led to believe it stops the bike flipping in the first three gears, :banana:

Remove it, and the PAIR valve.
