wr250 or wr450

I am 6 foot 5 and 250 pounds and looking to get a new bike. Im not the best rider out there but dont want a bike that will be to small for me.Whats a better bike for my height and weight? thanks alot guys

450, lower the pegs, but cr double high bars on iot with 10 mm + risers. you are real tall and will not be able to stand up if you don't do this. i am 6'2 and this made my bike perfect. you may want to put more seat foam in too since you are soo tall. 250 will be under powered for you.

I agree. The 450 in my opinion doesnt have too much power and is perfect for taller riders. I'm 6'1 and feel pretty ergo riding around town and in the dirt. :cry:

450 will be a handful at first, but it's what the doctor ordered. You will not regret it. :cry:

6'2' / 220 here. look no further than the 450. the ergos are great for a big hoss like yourself. raising the bars is good advice. you would crush a 250 :cry:

another vote for the 450.....

rev or lug riding style will determine which to get. :cry: 450 is a better choice for us big guys. :cry:

I bought a 450 and i am pretty novice. "All the gear and no idear" If you are afraid of the power, just leave the exhaust baffle in. It really is a do-anything type of bike. As long as you aren't going round the world or racing supercross, it will be perfect. 6'2" and 175 pounds.

Or when you land a jump on a trail, grab too much throttle and do a wheelie through a field hoping there is no dead fall in front of you. Not that I have done such a thing.

If it's too powerful, try turning the thing on the RH handlebar less :cry:

I didn't right away but thats what I'm doing this weekend. I put the first 100 miles on the bike with the stock suspension and it was way too soft.

By saturday she'll have a 6.0 rear spring and .50 shock springs from MX-Tech (MX-Tech.com)

I also plan to have it revalved (probably race tech gold valves) this winter sometime, I just didn't have the money for it right now.

My cousin just bought a 2002 WR426f this summer. He is a beginner and this WR is only his second bike. He chosed the big one over the 250 because of his height and weight (6'8, 245 pounds). He just takes it easy on the throttle and everything goes fine up until now. At your weight, get the big one...

hey blireef have you thought about lowering your pegs? it really helped i'm the same hight as you and also have a tall seat and taller bars,the lowered pegs just make it come together all the better! its free and not that hard to do. there is a link somewhere on TT,not sure how to get there though. :cry:
