Do I see the upper engine mounts still on? Remove them - it makes carb access a lot easier:thumbsup:

Also, when reinstalling the carb, put the rear shock in place but don't bolt it up. You will need to be able to move it around to get the airbox boot back on the carb. Once the boot is on, then bolt up the shock.

Thanks for the tip....:) Just what I need though, more crap

to take off....

Im installing the GYTR AIS kit. Was thinking of just doing the throttle

stop, but not after this. Noway am I doing this twice. Not at least for

awhile. Not a huge issue, but just a lot of crap to get to the carb.

Oh well, it'll be worth it when I hit the trails this weekend.

AND, I already had to remove the swingarm to grease properly.

Oh, another thing. Use a marker and put "L" and "R" with an arrow pointing up on the two mounts before removing them. You'll soon see why ....

Rip apart the new scooter

Damn

Its not "brand new"....it has 1.1 miles on her.

Tomorrow Im pulling the forks to grease the neck.

No worries man. After the initial prep, it will be good for

many hours of riding.

Besides, Im used to this. Here is a pic of my new, at

the time, harley. I ripped it apart and did a little modding

to it as well.

My wife says "youre the only person I know that can rip a 20 thousand

dollar bike apart into 20 thousand pieces".....:)

Oh, but I can and do.

Harleys?

This thread has gone right into the toilet.

Wow.....now you sound just like the Harley guys when

I post a pic of my dirt bike over there.

Go figure.....:)

Im not a "harely" or "yamaha" or "whatever" type of rider.

Im just a "rider". I love bikes..Period. As long as its two wheels

and a motor, Im interested. Sure, I have my favorites, or

perferences, but I still just love bikes. So get over it.

"if you dont have anything NICE to say...then dont....", Oh hell, nevermind.

I can't help hating hardleys. I live down the street from a hardley dealer and have to listen to the fat, out of shape slobs parade past on unmuffled bikes all spring and summer.

But anyway, there is no reason to have to take the carb off more than once. Once you pop the plug off the idle mixture screw and put in an adjustable one you can adjust everything with the carb in place. And adjustable leak jet is a good idea as well.

You can change the main and the pilot from the drain plug and to change the needle I just take the tank and seat off. I pull the needle out with pothead pliers (hemostats).

.

I remember the same type of guys bashing me at bike nights because i "only" had a Sportster -- albeit a 12 second one. Its all good tho, i like all bikes too. I will likely replace the Sporty with an RD 350 soon --- talk about upsetting the Night Train applecart down at Hooters :)

Wow, that just brought back some memories. My pops was a

"pothead" for a long time. Has been "clean" for about 12 years

now. But those pothead pliers were readily available around

our house back then. :)

The local biker bar had a bike show. So I cruised over just to let them smell some 2 stroke fumes and for giggles I entered the show.

I won my class and some of the guys got really pissed because they had 10 times in their harleys as I had in my ricer.
