WR450 going rainbow

I'm one week away from slapping a street plate on my WR. You know the deal. Ride the street to the trail and go. No more staging for me. I am looking for the most aggressive DOT, street legal tire that still kicks a$$ in the dirt. Anyone have some good tips? Thanks.

Most Pirelli fronts are DOT and they're pretty good dirt tires.

I've only heard about DOT back tires.

Don't think they are too anal down your way. At least not from what I have seen running the streets in AZ. Just run a good tire. Been running a Maxis IT, about 70 dirt 30 street, and it will easily last twice as long as my Dunlop.

I'm running Dunlop 606's to get my DMV inspection over with. They work good, except for some sidewall grip is lacking in the dirt. I will go back to the Maxxis IT's soon.

Kenda Trackmaster II K760 , and they're cheap!

^^^ Ditto

I just use the maxxis desert it. Not DOT, but Nv doesnt require it.

I'm running Kenda 777/778 on my WR, DOT approved and they're a pretty good tire, 90% dirt 10% pavement and a little over $100 for both.

this has got more knobs than the K760 Trackmaster II?

Great for the rear but do not run one on the front.

Does anyone know if AZ requires DOT tires? Just moved here & I don,t know.

the 777/778 have less knobs, but they are an intermediate-soft terrain tire, work well in sand and loose dirt.

no az riders know if dot tire are needed for the road?
