valve springs

1 post in this topic

Was reading the specs on the new 450F and couldn’t help but wonder about the shortened valves and smaller springs. When someone with a 4xxF writes, “the engine blew up” chances are it blew up blew up DUE TO THE VALVES FLOATING. Anyway to get back to the new 450F, it will again have titanium valves, but shorter ones for 03. What gets me is the “load reduced springs”. To me that means cheap springs and trouble down the road. When a springs coils are reduced the spring must work harder, it gets hotter, then ultimately the spring will fatigue sooner and the valves will float.
