2009 wr450 mods/4stroke newbie

2 posts in this topic

I have a 2009 wr450. After reading about the mods, I have done the pea shooter, thottle stop and grey wire. I left the snorkle in place and have done no other mods. Will the stock jetting work at sea level without causing the motor to run lean and heat up?

it will run better if properly jetted. I ran mine like yours for a few weeks. worked ok. but I never held WOT for very long. I'm not convinced that the GYTR needle is not any different then the original other then the extra slots for the clip to be moved..

fuel screw is a good idea. with a fuel screw and an oring on the AP linkage you can get pretty good throttle response. you can put that in without pulling the carb. a JD jet kit is pretty easy to put on and then it will run real good(it comes with 2 orings). I just changed the needle and the main jet and added the oring.
