idle mixture screw problem/question

I recently bought an 03 yz450f and the previous owner epoxied the idle mixture screw in place:banghead:. Well, long story short the screw broke off. Has anyone had a problem like this before? My buddy took the carb apart to see if he could get it out, no luck. Although he did clean a BUNCH of epoxy out of the carb. Short of buying another carb do I have any options?

So is the problem the epoxy or the fact the the screw broke? or both?

If its the epoxy then you can probably use a heat gun to soften it up or you could let it soak in some parts cleaner/acetone.

If its the broken screw head, couldn't you just drill it out and use an extractor. I'm just guessing as I can't recall what the housing and screw fitting looks like at the moment.

I don't think the epoxy is the problem, it was all cleaned out. The screw is broken off, so there is no adjustment. We looked at drilling and tapping it out but thought we would just hose up the threads.
