Tool Needed: Chain Tensioner Stopper

3 posts in this topic

Anyone know where I can buy a chain tensioner stopper tool for doing the valves on my X?

The service manual indicates it's part no.:

070MG-0010100 or

07AMG-001A100

The manual also gives specs for building one, but I'm lazy.

Thanks.

You can take the whole top end apart (less valve removal) and re-assemble it with out any special tools. It might be nice to have a "chain tension stopper" like it would be nice to have an electric butter knife, but surely not neccessary.

Are you just adusting the valves, or removing the head?

Or even easier is just take it off. When you out it back on just stick a small screwdriver in there, turn to the right and let go to reset the tension.
